QUI SUIS-JE ? Who am I?

My name is Delphine Laboureau-Ormancey. I am a native French-speaker, born and educated in France. I am a qualified and registered French teacher in Australia with 30 years experience in education, both in Australia and overseas. I have worked extensively with teenagers, pre-school and school-age children as well as adults.

My knowledge of the curriculum in Victorian schools, and particularly of the French VCE examination requirements and standards, is comprehensive and up-to-date. I also have a sound knowledge of International Baccalaureate (IB) requirements.

Ongoing professional development is vital to my practice. An active, longstanding member of The Association of French Teachers in Victoria (AFTV), I’m part of an extensive network of peers and colleagues, and enjoy many links with the French community in Victoria.

I hold a current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration, which includes a Working with Children check (copy available on request).

FRENCH TÊTE À-TÊTE,
qu’est-ce que c’est ?

What is French Tête-à-Tête?

After a number of years of employment in a variety of educational settings including university and public and private schools in both rural and urban areas, I established my own school, French Tête-à-Tête, (‘Face-to-Face French’) in Abbotsford in 2012.

French Tête-à-Tête specialises in VCE and IB tutoring, but also caters for a wide range of people from all walks of life, including professionals, individuals needing acceleration or desiring regular practice, and those with learning difficulties.

We teach French through immersion and conversation, addressing specific needs in language learning and providing personal feedback. Our methodology focuses on individual progress, and a positive and pleasant relationship between learner and tutor is basic to our approach. From time to time, we recruit other qualified, experienced, native-speaker tutors to assist with our program.

In 2020, French Tête-à-Tête started operating from a home office in Central Victoria and continued delivering classes online. French Tête-à-Tête now offers face-to-face and online lessons in Melbourne, Castlemaine and Daylesford as well as Immersion Workshops. All our programs are tailored to our learners’ needs.

French Tête-à-Tête is a member of the Australian Tutoring Association (ATA)

“I am so glad that I had Delphine’s help this year during my final year of VCE French. She was so helpful and always made sure I was on track throughout the course. Her tuition made me more confident and definitely encouraged me to put in more work. Delphine is incredibly organised and committed, I would recommend her to other students.
